Even though I miss desk drop-ins from my colleagues and spontaneous updates via elevator rides and bathroom breaks, I have embraced some of the perks of working from home. I no longer sit in traffic or have early morning flights, I see more of my family, and I have time to work out. While it is impossible to predict exactly what the American workforce will look like in the future, it’s clear that remote work, the use of cloud-based productivity tools, and new methods of hiring will undecidedly be permanent features of our future. If companies want to be prepared for the next normal tomorrow, then they need to focus on implementing these technologies today.
